About Thomas McGiveron

I entered this business in May of 2007. The market was changing - rapidly. Terms like mortgage swaps, short sales, loan modifications, no-doc loans, stated income loans were just starting to be thrown around.

The entire world was about to change and America was headed into The Great Recession.

I can remember meeting homeowners in 2008. I was desperately trying to get the word out to folks that if they wanted to sell, they needed to immediately.

Tell Us About You

I remember talking to buyers conversely, and making sure they were purchasing for the long haul.

I put my money where my mouth is and purchased in early summer of 2008...after the housing market had already crashed about 20%.

Fast-forward to 2013, the housing market was just starting to come out of the financial horrors of previous years and my personal residence had dropped about another 18% in value.

Now, in 2018, some 11 years later, my personal residence is worth more than what I paid (like many buyers I helped during 2008-2012.

This professional and personal experience has lead me to understand one thing - that real estate sales is not about how great I think I am at something. I have the habits, skills and attitude to help people and my track record proves it

However, what I learned over the years is, the business of helping people buy and sell real estate is really about making sure people are taken care of - honestly and to the best of my ability.

I quit my full-time job as a Behavioral Therapist working for a prominent non-profit in Suffolk County to go all-in on being a real estate agent in 2007. It's been an incredible ride.

Today, I work with an amazing partner in Colleen Davis who is the most dedicated person I have ever met when it comes to getting to know what other people want - in a home purchase - during the home selling process - and in life in general.

Prior to real estate, Colleen owned and operated her own massage therapy business for over 10 years. A cancer survivor, Colleen proudly supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Her and I manage the McGiveron Team and we welcome you to check out our client testimonials. The market is heating up. It's quickly turned to a sellers market. I believe many homeowners are going to try and sell their home without the assistant of an agent. I say - go for it!
